This 15-story art deco office building is #45 on the list of District Contributors for the Downtown Oakland Historic District Registration Form. Completed in 1929 for $1.5 million, Robert Kantor and Thomas Byrnes acquired the building in the early 1980s through Portfolio Property Investors (PPI). The building was significantly improved and was sold several years later.
